After an emmergency of the INEC in the eve of the 2019 general election around 1pm, sat 16, 2019. The Independent National Electorial Commision reschedules the 2019 general elections to a new date.

INEC Nigeria wrote:

Breaking News: The #NigeriaDecides2019 Elections now to hold on; 23rd February, 2019 for Presidential and National Assembly while the Governorship, State House of Assembly and the FCT Area Council Elections is to hold on
9th March, 2019.

Though there has been rumour sometimes ago about postponement but this is still a surprise. Thanks @Cally for the info!

But i thought INEC had 3yrs+ to prepare for this election? How on earth that wasn't enough?

I go with those who reckon this move by INEC as a rigging plan.
