Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi has been ruled out Champions League quarter-final showdown between Barcelona and Manchester United.

The Argentine star and Barcelona captain after win over Espanyol in league derby, suffered a terrible setback after cropping an injury in Training on Monday, thesportsrush.com reports

Edu Pons the Barcelona conditioning coach stressed that the injury will likely keep the star man out for two weeks and could make Lionel Messi to likely missed the both legs of champions league quarter-final clash.

"He will definitely miss the first leg. Messi has aggrevated the pubic bone injury, and we believe that the area has been put under excessive strain," the coach said

Ernesto Valverde said, "It's obviously a big blow. Messi is the best player in the world, but we have to regroup and put it behind us"

@Abbey no cause for alarm. Messi played against Villareal yesterday.

He came in as substitute and even scored the third goal for Barcelona. The match ended Villareal 4-4 Barcelona!
