"I'm glad Messi won the Ballon d' Or. We were also friends during our time at Barcelona.
"But I don't like to compare and I find it difficult to say he is the best of all time," Ronaldinho said according to Marca.
"There were Diego Maradona, Pele, Ronaldo (former Brazillian striker) and it is hard to say that Messi is the best throughout the history of football. I can say he is the best of his era," he explained.

Xavi is considered as replacement for the under fire Valverde. Xavi who is one of the club greatest star in the modern era football having almost his football career playing for them.
Ronaldo Koeman, Roberto Martinez and Thierry Henry, have also been considered for Barcelona job but Xavi seems to be the leading candidate should his club Al-Sadd leave him for fresh challenge.
According to Mirror UK, Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal and CEO Oscar Grau met with Xavi in Doha after Thursday's Super Cup clash in Saudi Arabia

Ernesto Valverde has penned an open letter toeveryone associated with the club, after he was sacked on Monday night
It would be the first time that Barcelona have sacked a coach in the middle of a season since Lous Van Gaal in 2003
Part of his farewell letter reads:
"Dear Barca fans, my time as FC Barcelona coach has come to an end. It has been an intense two and a half years from the start. In that time I have enjoyedsome joyful moments celebrating victories and trophies but also others that have been tough and difficult"

Barcelona legend, Xavi Hernandez, has explained that he turned down an opportunity to become the club's new manager because he is only just beginning his managerial career.
"Yes, I received an offer from Barcelona in a meeting with Eric Abidal and Oscar Grau, but I did not accept it, especially because it is too early to train Barcelona but it will remain my dream in the future to be a Barca coach," Xavi told Mundo Deportivo.
"First I told my family and then the Al Sadd players because they followed the issue.
"For three days I was not in my best position but now I am totally focused on Al Sadd."
