You can be so paralysed by the fear of failure that you may not try to do anything at all.
Do your past failures or the fear of new ones tend to keep you in the dugout? For fear of striking out, will you not even try to get a hit?
Are you afraid you'll do the wrong thing that you miss opportunities to do the right thing? If you answered "yes" to any or all of these questions, then you have problem with the fear of failure and you need to face it and get rid of it.
It may help you to realize that mistakes and failures are part of the learning process. You don't discipline a child learning to walk when that child falls down. Because they are learning, you encourage them to keep on trying.
Even if you fail, someone can point to you and say, "Don't ever grow up to be like that."
Shake off the spirit of failure!
