Baby Shower
A baby shower is basically a party which is thrown to celebrate the impending birth of a new baby. It's also a way for friends and family to help the new parents get everything they need. After all, the babies need tons of stuff, and the list can get quite expensive.

You might not know this, but the baby showers we know are a relatively new invention. But that doesn't mean that giving gifts to expectant parents wasn't done before baby showers became popular.

Traditionally, planning a baby shower isn't done by the expectant mother itself. Instead, friends and family members come together to plan the celebration. After all, the meaning of a baby shower is to "shower" mom and baby with gifts and love.

Most baby showers are through approximately 4-6 weeks before the baby is born. That way, guests can have the baby's gender in mind when choosing gifts and decorations.

SKIN
The skin is the largest organ of the body, with a total area of about 20 square feet. The skin protects us from microbes and the elements, help regulate body temperature, and permits the sensations of touch, heat, and cold

Skin has three layers;

1. The epidermis, the outermost layer of skin, provides a waterproof barrier and creates our skin tone.

2. The dermis, beneath the epidermis contains tough connective tissue, has follicles, and sweat glands

3. The deeper subcutaneous tissue (hypodermis) is made of fat and connective tissue

The skin's color is created by special cells called melanocytes, which produce the pigment melanin. Melanocytes are located in the epidermis.

JOSHUA BECKFORD
At age six, most young children are entering first grade, but not for the extraordinary Joshua Beckford.

Living with high-functioning autism, the child prodigy from Tottenham was, at the age of six, the youngest person ever to attend the prestigous Oxford University.

He received a certificate of excellence after getting distinctions in all his courses which were parts of an online learning platform for gifted children.

Now 13 years, the young scholar which has dreams of becoming a neurosurgeon was recently listed in the top 30 most remarkable people in the world with Autism who have impacted society.

But he has his father to thank for his incredible feat. At just 10 months old, Beckford's father, Knox Daniel, discovered his son's unique learning capacity while he was sitting on his lap in front of the computer.

With the keyboard being the child interest, Daniel said: "I started telling (Joshua) what the letters on the keyboard were and I realized that he was remembering and could understand."

"So, if I told him to point to letter, he could do it*** Then we moved to colours," Daniel added.

At the age of three, Beckford could read fluently using phonics. He learned to speak Japanese and even taught himself to touch-type on a computer before he could learn to write.

In 2011, his father was aware of a programme at Oxford University that was specific to children between the age of eight and thirteen. To challenge his son, he wrote to Oxford with the hopes of getting admission for his child even though he was younger than the age prescribed for the programme.

Fortunately, Beckford was given the chance to enroll, being the youngest student ever accepted. The brillant chap took a course in philosophy and history and passed both with distinction.
