The Ogun state police command said one of the five pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) who were abducted on Thursday, August 1, around J3 forest on Ogbere road, in Ijebu-East local government area of the state has been rescued.

The deaconess identified as Ibelegbo Chidinma was rescued early hours of Saturday, August 3, and would soon be taken to the convention ground, according to the police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi.

"The Ogun state police command wish to inform the general public that one of the kidnap victims Mrs Ibelegbo Chidinma, the only woman amongst them has been rescued unhurt.

"Effort is on top gear to rescue the remaining victims as the kidnappers who kept them in separate locations were changing their locations from time to time within the forest."
