Kofo Akinkugbe is the owner of the first sim production plant in Nigeria called SecureID Nigeria Ltd, a company which focuses on smart card technology and digital security.
It should be noted that prior to the inception of her company, Nigeria was spending much on importing sim cards from other countries, especially China.
The company now reportedly exports to 21 other countries and has the certification of credible companies like VISA, Verve, and Master Card.
Mrs Akinkugbe built a factory in 2015 that was inaugurated in Dec. 2016, as West Africa's first smart-card plant. It produces 200 million cards.
She spent 12 years in the financial sector before she left in 1997 to begin Interface Technologies. She also has MBA from the University of Strathclyde.
