FIFA The Best Men's Player of the Year nominees are out and it is the usual suspects which include - Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk.

The trio were also the finalists for the Champions League men's player which the Liverpool defender scooped for the first time in his career.

Ronaldo has been nominated for the FIFA The Best award for the fourth-time in a row and the Portuguese superstar is hoping to win the accolade for the third time.

Five-time Ballon D'Or winner, Messi is still looking to scoop his first award since its inception in 2016, was also listed for the accolade.

The 2019 accolade will produce a new winner after last year's winner, Luca Modric was not among the shorlisted candidates.

I think Messi deserves this award being the highest goal scorer in UCL and in the Europe plus other things
