A day-old baby dumped in a dustbin in Owerri, the Imo State capital was found dead on Friday at  dump around Hardel junction.

Covered with blood signifying that he was a newborn, the baby was dumped inside a carton without any cloth on him.

The development caused gridlock at the junction as motorists and passersby struggled to have a glimpse of the dead body.

The source said, "The corpse was found at the dump this morning (Friday). This is very terrible. Why will a woman be this wicked? What offence did this innocent child commit? We called the police and they promptly arrived."
