Procrastination is delaying doing to do something without having a good reason.
Most procrastination is just a plain laziness.
There are a variety of reasons that you may procrastinate, and many of them have to do with fear.
You may fear making a commitment, a firm decision, or a mistake, so you postpone making any decision to act as long as possible. Or you may choose to always do easy or pleasant tasks before all others, thus postponing indefinitely those tasks that require the most time and energy.
There is what I call creative procrastination, however, and I encourage you to exercise it when the need arises. If you're faced with an activity that you are not sure how to start or if you should start at all, then let it rest for a while on an old to-do-list. Chances are when you look at it again, you'll have a better idea of what to do and maybe will decide to drop it altogether.
